The different stages

Phase 1: Research, Vision and Design Brief

Depending on the depth of research and the size of the company. It is the most crucial part of the process.

  • How is the brand perceived against competitors in the same market
  • What is the positioning statement of your brand?
  • What is the heritage of your product type, and the origins of its ingredients and fabrication process
  • Who is your audience?
  • What values and beliefs should the brand have about the business and its mission in the world?
  • What benefits do you want customers to associate with your brand?

Phase 2: Logo, Identity and Guidelines

The Logo

Designers generally start by sketching out dozens of ideas on paper. The process of getting concepts down on paper can unlock new directions and solutions. After selecting the the best concepts then you should start creating them digitally.

Phase 3: Monitoring and Rebranding

This website has lots of useful links and imagery that explains the process of creating a visual identity.
